IperPianalto

The Fondazione Spinola Banna per l’Arte and the GAM Galleria Arte Moderna e Contemporanea of Turin continue with their three-year collaboration project which, thanks to the contribution from the Compagnia di San Paolo, has activated a collaboration project between these two key cultural bodies from the Piedmontese territory: one private and one public institution.

The intention is thus to re-launch the residency programme dedicated to young artists, and promoted over the last few years by the Fondazione Spinola.

Through this shared project, every year the theme proposed by an artist, invited by both institutions, who in the role of tutor will outline a project and a working schedule to be implemented between the autumn and the following spring, in both venues.

For the year 2017/18, the artists tutors invited are Andrea Caretto and Raffaella Spagna with the project entitled IperPianalto.

The programme will unfold on basis of the following schedule:

At Fondazione Spinola Banna per l’Arte

18-25 October 2017 WORKSHOP (first section)
March 2018 WORKSHOP (second section)
June 2018 Opening of final show and conclusive presentation of the publication

At the GAM Galleria Arte Moderna e Contemporanea of Turin

3 November 2017, 9.30am Presentation of Progetto Iperpianalto

A series of meetings, conferences and performances are foreseen, dedicated to the theme of the project (the dates of which will be made known as soon as possible).

The project foresees a path of familiarisation with a territory through its direct experience and a comparison with the forces that have shaped it, and starts off from its contact with the Original Telluric Currents, from which every following manifestation of this environment has taken form. The overall programme of interventions is conceived as a collective research project, oriented towards establishing a deep relationship with a place. IperPianalto is a shared learning process in which different gazes and approaches towards artistic creation are compared, opening up to various kinds of collaboration with local subjects, and converging in a corpus of knowledge and tangible forms, which may be enjoyed by a broader public.
